Perial is a religious figure in the Mender heresies who serves as mother to Menda.
In Trapis's story
Between four hundred and a thousand years before Kvothe lived in Tarbean, Tehlu found Perial to be kind and selfless. When Tehlu visited her, she convinced him to experience life as a man so that he could understand how circumstances shape people's actions. After three months, she gave birth to Menda, who was Tehlu. Perial held him back again with the same argument when his divinity was doubted.[1]
Religious figure
When Marten is praying desperately, he invoked Perial along with Tehlu, Ordal and Andan.[2]
