Celean is a young Adem girl, approximately 10 years of age, and the first sparring partner Vashet presents Kvothe. Kvothe is initially embarrassed when she is presented to him as a fighter of equal skill, but he quickly regards her with respect.

Celean has large grey eyes. She is short, described as barely coming up to Kvothe's breastbone, and skinny. She is a fairly normal ten-year-old, despite her warrior upbringing. She has ambition and is a capable fighter despite her age, but is also carefree like a young girl. She dances under the Latantha tree with great skill.
