Skoivan Schiemmelpfennig, known as Schiem, is a pig farmer that Denna and Kvothe meet while they are searching for Denna’s patron outside Trebon. Schiem is from deep in the countryside and has an extremely thick accent, presumably from an earlier dialect of Commonwealth Aturan. Schiem tells Kvothe and Denna that there is a monster in the woods (namely the draccus), that he has seen blue fire recently, and that the Mauthen farm was built out of barrow-stones.[1]
