Known as "The Hammer," "The Clay," and "The Spinning Wheel." The sandy-haired Vashet resides in Haert as a teacher of Latantha, the path of the sword tree. Vashet grew up in Feant, which houses the school of the path of joy. She says she was considered prudish by her home's standards, but is seen as wild in Haert.

Vashet is Kvothe's fighting, Ademic, cultural instructor, and an occasional sexual companion. She has a heavy hand in determining whether Kvothe will leave Haert unmaimed, and is often concerned about the darkness she perceives within him.
