Haert is the Ademre border town that Kvothe visits after being educated about the Ketan and Lethani by Tempi (both forbidden knowledge to "barbarians"). Haert is the only Ademic town Kvothe visits.
The small community is described as not looking like a town at all. There is no main street, no market, and no obvious governing buildings. The architecture is uneven and sensibly blends into the landscape to avoid the strong winds as well as the attention of outsiders.
The elder of the town is Shehyn. She is the de facto leader and teacher of The Path of the Sword Tree.
