Cealdish Currency is the most widely used currency in Temerant, because of the widespread trust of Cealdish merchants and moneylenders. Cealdish currency was the first minted standardized currency[1], and is still in the shape of trapezoidal ingots (example). The coins are representative, meaning they are worth more than their weight of metal.
Shims are a special currency, made of scrap iron, that are not technical legal tender. They are generally worth 10-14 to the drab[2]. Because of their low value, the word “shim” is also used as a derogatory term for Cealdish people.
